Chicagoland Prize Homes

Project Information

Summary

This project explores a Chicago Tribune housing architecture contest announced just after the end of World War II. A handful of homes were built in the Chicagoland region based on award-winning designs, some of which are still standing. We locate the homes on a map, and also include images of the homes as they currently exist, showing the ways in which Americans' ideas about housing have changed since the mid-twentieth-century.
