Addams testifies before House Foreign Affairs Committee on Hague Conference
Description
With Lucia Ames Mead and Sophonisba Breckenridge, Addams give testimony before the United States House of Representative's Committee on Foreign Affairs on the plan for an international conference of neutral countries for the purpose of bringing an end to the war in Europe. The delegates to the International Committee of Women for Permanent Peace had called for such a conference the previous spring, during their conference in the Hague, Netherlands. Addams also reported on her meetings, after the congress, with public officials and peace advocates, in many of the European capitals.
